Yoav Schverd, alongside being Nua & pitaBu restaurant co-partner, is an LA-based private chef and culinary consultant specializing in fresh, healthy, and tasty food.
Yoav creates magic from any ingredients he will have while working with high-end clientele.
Hailing from Tel Aviv, Yoav’s food is a culmination of the vast cultures he grew up around, which include many Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, European, Asian, and African influences. Like many, perhaps his most significant impacts come from his home life. At the age of 4, Yoav regularly went fishing with his father and learned how to catch and clean a fish before learning to read. Seeing his mother prepare the fish for dinner inspired his love for cooking
“I remember my dad coming back from the Jaffa port with a couple of fish in his bag and some ice. Mom was frying the fish straight from the sea, as fresh as it can be. The house was full of that m smell, and I can still feel it.”
After the army, Yoav graduated from Israel’s law school, Bar Ilan University. He then passed the bar exam and went on to never practice a day of law but instead focus on his culinary career. Yoav has learned from some of the best chefs in Israel, opened several bars and restaurants, worked on cooking shows, and even won the Israeli version of “The Bachelorette.”
Since moving to Beverly Hills in 2016, Yoav has found success as a private chef to the stars and the upper echelon of Los Angeles and a culinary consultant to hotels and restaurants. Yoav is a co-partner of Nua and PitaBu restaurants, one is located in the center of Beverly Hills and the other in Malibu, with the sea view, offer amazing Mediterranean cuisine in a unique European atmosphere and Tel Aviv delicious cuisine.
Consistently donating his time to charitable causes, including being auctioned off for Tilly’s Life Center, Yoav strives to make the world smile with his cooking.
